JAMAKIS
(Gospel Rap)
JAMAKIS , pronounced (juh-mac-kiss), is a Producer, Songwriter, and Gospel Rapper from Baytown , Texas , just east of Houston . JAMAKIS stands for Just Another Man Anointed & Keen In Spirit. To be keen in spirit means to have your mind set on things above, not on things of the earth (Colossians 3:1 &2). It also means to know when God is speaking to your heart.
JAMAKIS has been doing Gospel Rap since 1995, when he was only 13 years-old. Since then, he has shared stages with many national and established artists such as Byron Cage, Mark Taylor & Abundant Life Cathedral, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Ruff Endz, Shei Atkins, Bun B. of UGK, Mike Jones, Kathy Taylor and the list goes on. He began making tracks in 1998. Before getting his first sequencing keyboard in 1998, he made his beats with his mouth. He released a demo CD in 1999 which received great responses and even some radio play. He released his current full length album in August of 2002 entitled "The Preacha Boy". The CD was released on his own label Platinum Beat Entertainment Group, formally Preacha Boy Productions. This album is full of different styles which includes rap, choir, instrumental, and innovative R & B.
The first single from the album was the R & B track "He Can" which features Desirae, an up and coming singer from the Houston area and member of Totally Committed, Platinum Beat's new urban gospel choir. “He Can” did well on a few radio stations in Texas and Louisiana . It also had some international success becoming the #1 Song in Costa Rica for 3 weeks! The song was also featured as a bonus track on the album "By Grace" by Patti Denise who is now a Platinum Beat artist. The next single that JAMAKIS released is the choir smash "I Feel Blessed". This song continues to have everyone jumping and getting their praise on.
In 2003, JAMAKIS ' "The Preacha Boy" was nominated by the Houston Holy Hip Hop Achievement Awards for Underground CD of the Year. In 2004, the album was nominated for CD of the Year, and JAMAKIS was nominated for Artist of the Year! In 2007, JAMAKIS was a nominee in the Gospel Rap category at the 9 th Annual Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards.
JAMAKIS released another project in 2007, a compilation CD entitled "The Platinum Beat Stage Vol. 1" which features all of the artists from his new label Platinum Beat Entertainment Group. As of now these artists include JAMAKIS , J-Free (Gospel Rapper), Jerald Jackson (Gospel R & B Singer), Patti Denise (Praise & Worship/Gospel Singer), and Totally Committed (Urban Gospel Chorale) which includes some awesome singers from the Houston area. In addition to his rap verse on “Join The Family”, the first single released last year by The Platinum Beat Family off of the compilation, JAMAKIS contributes 3 HITs (Heavenly Inspired Tracks) to the project. “Can't Stop Us”, is a crunk joint that you can snap to featuring 2 of Houston's hottest Holy Hip Hop stars S.O.M. and Lil' Raskull. It's a motivational piece that you can chant when you feel that people are trying to stop you from fulfilling your destiny. “I Finished What I Started” is a reggae/dancehall style song featuring Denzil, who reps Jamaica , J-Free, and Desirae. This song is a celebration about the feeling that's like no other, finishing something in which you worked very hard to complete. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (13 th verse of Philippians' last chapter). He also blesses the project with “Preacha Boy” his classic testimony of maintaining his Christian walk while growing up in the hood.
JAMAKIS raps about growing up in the hood without getting caught up in the many things that the hood has to offer. He raps about being an example, a leader, instead of a follower. He raps about how God has been blessing him and how God can bless anyone who "gets in position" and have the desire to move on to the next level. He raps about choosing life over death, and certain issues that go on in the church.
PATTI DENISE
Houston is known for being the home of some of the world's greatest Gospel female vocalists such as Kim Burrell, Yolanda A dams, and Cindy Cruse-Ratcliff . These anointed women of God are known for their outstanding vocal abilities and heart for worship. Patti Denise is no different. She has everything that it takes to be included in this elite list of vocalists and very soon the whole world will get a chance to lift up the name of Christ in Praise and Worship and experience His presence with Patti Denise.
“I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth-Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.” Psalm 40: 1-3
Evangelist Patti Denise is the founder of In His Hands World Outreach Ministries. This ministry focuses on bringing healing to believers and non-believers alike through the teaching of New Covenant principles in an effort to promote change one thought at a time.
It is a long way from Trinidad , West Indies to Baytown , Texas . At age 10, this Musical Evangelist heard the Gospel from American Missionaries sent to the Island of Trinidad and Tobago and there received the free gift of Salvation offered through Jesus Christ. Evangelist Patti Denise has since then earned a Masters Degree in Theology, is a licensed and ordained minister and walks in the vocation of a Hospice Chaplain. She currently resides in Houston , Texas.
At age 13, Patti received from her pastor an album of world-renowned vocalist Mahalia Jackson and he instructed Patti to sing when Mahalia sang and breathe when she breathed. That was the only music lesson Patti received and she has been singing ever since! After rising victoriously through many years of life's tests and trials, she is ready to go out as God commanded and proclaim liberty to the captives. She believes that God has anointed her to bind up the broken hearted and to set the captives free through song and the teaching of the Gospel.
Patti is likely to refer to biblical truths, brief exhortation or parts of her testimony as introduction to her songs. The songs Patti sings reflects her love for Christ and her strong desire to worship Him. As a worship leader not only does her voice produce melodious tones that lubricate the soul- when Patti sings you can be sure to be ushered right into the very presence of God.
Patti Denise is one of the lead singers on “Join The Family,” the single released last year by The Platinum Beat Family. She is also featured on the Platinum Beat compilation CD “The Platinum Beat Stage Vol.1” released June 19, 2007 . Patti's contributions to the project include “By Grace,” a song of worship written and produced by Sam Kyobe of Uganda , Africa . In this song, she sings about entering the courts of our King by grace. Then for those who like a touch of jazz, she blesses the project with “Come As You Are,” a jazzy song discussing her conversation with Christ about the things she's done and Him telling her to come as she is. This song was written by Jarvas Hodge and produced by two of the hottest and freshest production teams in Houston : Bama Boyz of Mathew Knowles' Music World Productions (Trin-i-tee 5:7, Wal-Mart/Destiny's Child) and Platinum Beat Pros. It is definitely a HIT (Heavenly Inspired Track)!

TOTALLY COMMITTED
They have soul, style, charisma and most importantly they are committed to singing for the Lord. Totally Committed (TC) , an urban gospel chorale from Houston , Texas , is the most recent addition to Platinum Beat Entertainment Group and is already headed on a successful path. The group as well as its individual members has recorded, performed and shared stages with artists such as Grammy winner Patti Labelle, Micah Stampley and Kathy Taylor, just to name a few. TC has also performed for community events such as NFL Star Vince Young's VY 4 Kids Day.
TC is featured on the Platinum Beat compilation CD “The Platinum Beat Stage Vol.1” released in 2007. TC blesses the project with 2 H.I.T.s (Heavenly Inspired Tracks) written by Jarvas Hodge. Their sharp choral harmonies and arrangements are heard on “True Praise,” a hand clapping and shouting praise song for both the old and young saints, and “In His Arms” featuring Grammy nominee Shei Atkins, which is an awesome testimony of finding rest in the arms of our loving Father. This one is definitely for the real worshiper.
With the spotlight being on Christ, TC 's music is Gospel and Inspirational. The purpose behind their songs is to draw people closer to God and motivate them to surrender their all and be “totally committed.” They sing about the good news of what Christ has done and will do for us.
It takes great vocal and musical talent to sing, but to sing for God you must be totally committed. And that is what TC is, committed to Jesus.
